Establishing my Palace

I am starting this journal to show to the world how my life has been, since I have started living with the humans.

I took over their house four years ago.

I used to live at an office complex with mom and other friends. We had our own rules, and co-existed with dogs, pigeons and the humans. There was a female who used to bring milk for me and my mom everyday since we hung around near her "office".

Mom & I were never sure of the "office". It seemed to be a place of torture and repression. We were not allowed in there. The doors used to slam at our faces. Sometimes, they left out warm garbage bags for us to sleep us but shooed us away if we actually sat on it.

My mom had rebelled against this "office" by once peeing on the door of one such "office". Strangely the other humans, including the female who fed me, immediately looked away and pretended she" had no idea this was happening. (It wasn't her office, but still, her running away seemed strange).

I also decided to perform a daring act of rebellion against the establishment by sitting in front of their door. What is the purpose, you may ask. If you can't understand, I cannot possibly explain it to you. Anyway, that act.. didn't quite go as planned. I got severely hit by the door when it was opened & suffered a fracture. (Foolish humans designed the door to open outside).

The humans of that "office", lacking nuance (as always) just called me dumb cat when I got hit by the door and limped away in pain. They do not appreciate my royal lineage.

On seeing that, the human female brought me to my future abode.

Initially, I was placed in great trials, perhaps to test my willpower. I was brought to a small room with several male humans who were wearing gloves. They tried to torture me with needles. Then, they took me to another room, where they tried to force me on top of a machine. I gave a good fight and ensured that all four of them were required to hold me down. The female human kept talking about "Let them take an xray Shiro" but what do I care? I don't know what's an xray. I am not sure I even want to be called Shiro.

After the trial, I was taken to a corner of the living room, and giving a clean basket with towels. I proceeded to have the longest bath of my life. I had always been interrupted by my bully of a big brother, other siblings, mom, pigeons, humans and what not. But here, I was finally given time to give my coat the sheen it deserves.

There was a lot of discussion amongst the humans. Half of them wanted me to go back to the grounds where my mom lived. Half wanted me to stay.

Then, the two humans who wanted me gone, along with the female who brought me, disappeared for a week. I was left with the male human who didn't help me much but was very affectionate. I will not say that I was afraid of being in this new environment (Shiro, having fear? Hah!) but I thought I should do the kind thing and give the man company.

By the time the others came back, I was firmly established at home. (Yes, it is of course my home. But I am generous and let others live there).

And thus started my life in a human house. The residents of course became family. They usually serve me as they should, though sometimes they annoy me. I try to discipline them by biting them, but they just laugh it off as playfulness. Humans can be weird.

At any rate, I will now start to chronicle my experiences here so that any other cat who wishes to take over human homes, understand what they will have to face at some point.
